Video DescriptionCabana Club Commercial Re-Roof | Full Project Walkthrough (Before → After)
In this project spotlight, our crew takes you behind the scenes of a complete commercial re-roof at the Cabana Club, a multi-building property that needed a durable, code-compliant solution built to handle Florida weather. From the first inspection and tear-off to deck repairs, underlayment, flashing, and final quality checks, you’ll see how a professional re-roof protects the building envelope, improves energy performance, and extends roof life for years to come.
What We Found
Our assessment identified aging materials, compromised flashing, and moisture intrusion around penetrations, common failure points on older commercial roofs. We documented the problem areas, confirmed deck integrity, and engineered a scope that minimized tenant disruption while staying on schedule.
Our Re-Roof Process
Protection & Safety: We staged the site, protected landscaping and walkways, set debris chutes, and enforced OSHA safety protocols.
Tear-Off & Deck Repair: All worn materials were removed down to the deck. We replaced damaged sheathing, tightened fasteners, and ensured a flat, stable substrate.
Underlayment & Waterproofing: We installed high-performance underlayment, ice/water protection in critical zones, and upgraded flashing at valleys, walls, and penetrations.
System Installation: The new roofing system was installed to manufacturer specifications, including proper fastening patterns, ventilation, and sealants for long-term performance.
Detail Work & QC: We finished edges, counter-flashing, and transitions, then completed a multi-point quality inspection and site cleanup.
Warranty & Close-Out: Owner received documentation, photos, and warranty registration for hassle-free coverage.
Why It Matters
A commercial re-roof is more than new shingles or membrane, it’s a building-wide weather management system. Upgraded waterproofing and flashing protect interiors and equipment, consistent ventilation helps regulate attic/roof temperatures, and a clean, uniform finish improves curb appeal for tenants and guests.

Howdy folks. Just wanted to take a minute. Jason Smith here with Rescue Roofing. Wanted to showcase one of the jobs we have underway right now here at the Cabana Club during Hurricane Milton. This property suffered a lot of roofing damage. You can kind of see some of it now. We haven't gotten to this building yet, but we're currently installing about halfway through a full aluminum standing seam roofing system in a beautiful medium bronze to kind of match the copper that was once there.
Navigating a Tight Space with Safety Protocols
So, Ryan, as the project manager on this build, this is a very tight space and it's a big job. How are you navigating that and keeping everybody safe?
Yeah, it is a tight space. So to coordinate with that, we have a staging area. We have cranes. We're constantly moving to different sections of the roof and we actually have residents that live here still day to day, like 90 residents I think, right? At least.
Yes.
So we also have to be concerned with safety. We have to have hard hats. We have to have vests. We have to be harnessed in. We have to be tied into the roofing system. The crew is tied in up top.
Yes, sir. Right. High winds up there. So it's dangerous. And it's seven stories tall. So being OSHA compliant is key.
It is.
